New York at Night

New York at Night

I took Halley out one night on Roosevelt Island to teach her how to shoot Night Photography.

Once you START you can Never stop!!!!

These are shots from the Island of Manhattan.

This is a school on Roosevelt. The lights were really beautiful inside.

I set the camera on a tripod to get these shots. I exposed for the sky in order to get the right exposure for the rest of the composition.

When shooting night photography remember to look at how the light reflects and where it lands on other surfaces.
In this shot I loved how the light was shining through the fence and falling onto the ground and also the light off the street lamps lit the hydrant.

This was hand held, I just focused on some city lights and opened the shutter for 1min and rotated the camera.

This is a church on Roosevelt Island. It was a really perfect night for night photography!
