Patriarchal blessings

DÍA DE LOGROS

One of my favorite things about being primary president is being able to do activity days with the 8-11 year old kids. We always have so much fun. Once a month we meet together just the girls and do all sorts of fun activities, then once a month we meet together all the kids.
This month we talked about Patriarchal blessings

“Your patriarchal blessing will see you through the darkest night. It will guide you through life’s dangers.”

—Thomas S. Monson

We threw all of our shoes into the middle of the room and had to run to the middle grab two different shoes that did not belong to us and put them on. Of course it was a riot. The kids learned that not everyone is the same. That just like the shoes, each one is different and not all fit us. So is our Patriarchal blessings. They are individual spiritual guidelines for each one of us. A road map if you will.
I then brought out all the fixings for ice cream sundaes. Each child came up and I asked them what they wanted in their sundaes, it turns out not one had asked for the same toppings.
